A Sue Ryder survey in June 2016 reported that the general public fear being diagnosed with a neurological condition more than cancer. Whilst concerns centre on the loss of independence and the burden on families, 1:13 people have witnessed bullying against a person with a neurological condition.

We work to improve perception and care by enabling people with neurological conditions to have a real voice. It is lived experience of a neurological condition that offers the most vital advice, information and support to navigate fragmented services and lived experience must be at the heart of service design in the future. Of the Neuro Key Trustees and volunteers, 75% are people living with a neurological condition.

We need your support. People with neurological conditions are more hidden because of lack of understanding and are one of the most isolated groups within the NHS, even though more than a million people are disabled by their condition.

Whether we are providing support through our Advocacy and Information services, delivering our education programme, campaigning or providing training to help improve the standards of services, our work relies heavily on your generosity.

100% of your donation helps us improve the lives of people living with or caring for someone with a neurological condition in the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire.

Thank you for your support – we greatly appreciate it.
